As part of the celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, our institution's educational rehabilitator Dina Dežmar participated on March 20 at the international scientific and professional conference BRIDGE 2026: Down Syndrome - Opportunities, Support and Development in Požega.
Participation in the conference was focused on improving professional knowledge and exchanging experiences in the field of early intervention, health and rehabilitation care, education, and support throughout all life stages of people with Down syndrome.
The conference placed special emphasis on the importance of cooperation between parents and families and experts, as well as on an interdisciplinary approach to planning and providing support, with the aim of improving functionality and quality of life. Our future therapy dog Lav also participated in the panel discussion – in a slightly different, but equally important role of supporting the panelists. The acquired knowledge and examples of good practice will contribute to further improving work with children and families in our institution.
Together we build a supportive and inclusive environment for every child and their family.
