The lion is currently in the socialization phase and is already winning the hearts of children, parents and staff. Involving animals in working with children reduces stress, increases motivation and encourages the development of social and communication skills.
Under the watchful eye of his socializer, an educational rehabilitator, Lav participated in several important events this week. Organized by the Academy for Developmental Rehabilitation and Mali Dom in Zagreb, at the training "Infant Motor Profile", Lav had the opportunity to practice how to navigate a larger group of people, while our educational rehabilitator Dina Dežmar successfully completed training in this valuable tool for assessing early motor development, which provides the hospital with another valuable service for our little patients.
Also, Lav, together with Dino and speech therapist Svjetlana Tončetić Bogović, participated in the conference "Challenges and Benefits of Including Assistance Dogs and Therapy Dogs" organized by the Croatian Association for Guide Dog Training and Mobility. He showed his greatest qualities - patience, calmness and stability - traits that adorn him on his path to becoming a therapy dog.
Leo is just at the beginning of his journey, and we look forward to watching him grow and learn with us!
