On Thursday 23 October 2025. and Friday 24 October 2025. in the premises of the Special Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation "Martin Horvat" Rovinj-Rovigno was held Practical workshop on the treatment of upper limb spasticity with Botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT-A) in adult patients after stroke.
The workshop leaders, which brought together resident physicians and physical medicine specialists from Croatia and Slovenia, as well as neurologists, were Darko Kraguljac, MD, a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and Barbara Zadković, MD, a specialist in neurology from the Special Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation "Martin Horvat" Rovinj-Rovigno.
In practical work, workshop participants learned about the mechanism of action of the drug, indications for use, ultrasound visualization of the muscles of the upper limbs, drug application techniques, patient preparation for application, and case reports.
This workshop, which is being held for the fifth time at the Special Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation "Martin Horvat" Rovinj-Rovigno, aims to provide its patients, as well as patients from other institutions in the region, with the best possible care in the treatment of focal spasticity of the upper limbs after stroke, through the education of doctors.
