The Special Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation "Martin Horvat" Rovinj-Rovigno is proud to announce a valuable donation from the Bičanić family, which enabled the institution to implement a PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) information system. This technologically advanced system represents a key step in the modernization of radiological processes, improving the quality of healthcare, and enabling more efficient diagnostics.
PACS is a cloud-ready system for archiving radiological images in the international DICOM standard, and enables the viewing of medical images inside and outside the institution via telemedicine. This opens up the possibility of consultations between experts remotely, faster decision-making and access to images without physical data transfer. The system also includes advanced tools for measuring, analyzing and post-processing radiological images, which provides doctors and specialists with additional precision and confidence in interpreting findings.
The implementation of the PACS system will provide the hospital with a greater degree of digitalization and efficiency and significantly speed up diagnostic procedures. Users of the hospital's services - patients from Istria, Croatia and other countries - will be able to count on faster, higher quality and more secure preservation and exchange of medical documentation.
It is particularly important to emphasize that the system is compliant with the highest standards of data protection and patient privacy.
