Sea water on the beach of Hospital "Prim. Dr. Martin Horvat" is of excellent quality, it was assessed on the occasion of the last sampling that is regularly carried out on beaches all over Istria by the Institute for Public Health of the County of Istria.
Ratings are determined based on the measurement of numerous analytical parameters, and according to the criteria defined by the Regulation on the quality of the sea for bathing (Official Gazette 73/08) and EU directive on bathing water quality management (No. 2006/7/EC).
During the sampling, in addition to the analysis of microbiological indicators, meteorological conditions such as air and sea temperature are recorded, so on August 9, the sea temperature during the morning sampling at the Rovinj Hospital was 26.4 ºC, the air temperature was 26 ºC, and the salinity of the sea (salinity) was 38.5.
The sea at the Rovinj Hospital beach has excellent quality for swimming, and the benefits of the sea and the sun have been known since ancient times as healing.
As a reminder, intestinal enterococci and Escherichia coli are determined in sea samples, as microbiological indicators of pollution, and during sampling meteorological conditions, sea temperature and salinity, and visible pollution are recorded.
Based on the results of microbiological indicators for individual sampling, the bathing sea is classified as excellent and marked with a circular symbol on the map blue color; good is marked on the map in green, satisfactory in yellow and unsatisfactory in red.
