On Friday, May 20, 2022, the Special Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation "Martin Horvat" Rovinj-Rovigno hosted the signing ceremony of the Letter of Intent on cooperation in the implementation of the Reconstruction and Equipment Project of its Department for Children's Rehabilitation.
Connected by a common common interest and intention to cooperate in the implementation of the Project, the County Prefect of Istria, as well as all mayors, mayors, and mayors of Istrian cities and municipalities, undertake to co-finance credit obligations for the reconstruction of the Department in 2022-2034 child rehabilitation.
This event is of historical importance for all citizens of the Istrian County, as well as the Special Hospital Rovinj-Rovigno, because according to the signed Letter of Intent of all stakeholders can start with the implementation of a joint project, which is ensuring adequate conditions for the provision of health care to the youngest patients.
"In the period from 2019. by 2021, a total of 20 million kuna has been invested in the adaptation of hospital buildings. Rovinj-Rovigno Special Hospital has expanded its scope of work to neurology, pediatrics, pediatric orthopedics, pediatric rehabilitation, clinical psychology, speech therapy, educational rehabilitation, anesthesiology and pain medicine, telemedicine scientific and professional activities, health tourism and thus significantly increased the number of clinics and the range of services, "said director Marinko Rade.
On this solemn occasion, the Director proudly presented the development of the Hospital to the guests and staff present in a presentation entitled "Imagine the future, building on the past. " emphasizing that this hospital institution has 134 years of uninterrupted legacy, which inspires and commits to further development and progress. An institution we must guard.
"By taking care of our children, we secure the future. For the first time, absolutely all stakeholders in the public life of the Istrian County put aside possible differences and agreed on one project that is more important than ourselves. It is a message of courage, responsibility and foresight. By building these departments, we are actually creating maximum value for children, and thus investing in demography, in our future.“, said director Marinko Rade.
The Istrian prefect Boris Miletić also addressed the audience, from whom the initiative, presented in coordination with the mayors, ie mayors, on joint co-financing of the adaptation and equipping of the Children's Department, started. On that occasion, the prefect once again thanked all Istrian mayors and mayors.
"He is a key leader of the team, and I can say that he is a real fighter for the director of Rovinj Hospital, both for his employees and the institution, and for upgrading everything. I am sure that Dr. Marinko Rade can choose the continent and institution where he can get much better. paid work, but he loves his city, his employees and his institution, so he will stay in his city as long as he has the support of the community and as long as he sees that his knowledge can contribute to the development of the system. The needs of our youngest patients cover the entire county and when it comes to such needs, there are no administrative boundaries and therefore this community is needed," said Prefect Boris Miletic.
The mayor of Rovinj, Marko Paliaga, recalled the years before the arrival of director Marinko Rade, saying that many visited the hospital with the intention of buying it, but the resistance and fight against such intentions proved to be correct.
"This center will not only contribute to the quality of life of all Istrians, but also facilitate treatment for children and parents, reduce travel and accommodation costs in finding treatment options, and thus contribute to the quality of life of the whole family," said Rovinj Mayor Marko Paliaga. .
On behalf of all mayors, Kanfanar Mayor Sandro Jurman thanked and congratulated everyone on this project, saying that all together they have once again shown that there are things much more important than politics itself.
