He graduated in 2003 from the Medical Faculty of the University of Rijeka. He did his internship for doctors of medicine at the Pula General Hospital and in 2005 he passed the professional exam. After passing the professional exam, he got a job in the General / Family Medicine Practice.
He started working at the Pula General Hospital in January 2006 as a pediatric specialist. He passed the specialist exam in pediatrics in 2010, and the exam in the specialty (neonatology) in 2014. In the same year, he was appointed head of the Unit for Sick Newborns and Premature Infants in the Department of Pediatrics of the Pula General Hospital. He held this position until the end of 2018. In addition to working in the Unit for Sick Newborns and Premature Infants, he was also involved in the Unit of Older Children and Infants and the Day Hospital, and also did brain ultrasound (neurosonography) and was involved in monitoring the psychomotor development of infants and children.
In the middle of 2019, he stopped working at the Pula General Hospital in order to dedicate himself to writing his doctoral dissertation. He defended it in early December 2019. The topic was "The association of histologically proven chorioamnionitis with the polarization of decidual macrophages and their impact on the outcome of preterm infants born before the 32nd week of pregnancy."
At the end of 2020, he will start working at the Martin Horvat Special Hospital in Rovinj-Rovigno as part of the Early Intervention Team for Children with Neurorisk and Developmental Disabilities, and he will also perform ultrasound of the brain in newborns and infants (neurosonography). He is currently the Head of the Early Intervention Team and the Head of the Specialist Consular Health Care Service.
In June 2022, the Ministry of Health will recognize him as primarius.
At the University of Alma Mater in Slovenia, where he is the holder of several clinical courses in the study of Physiotherapy, which is conducted in Italian, he was elected to the scientific-teaching title of assistant professor at the end of 2020.
He has been involved in the work of the University of Juraj Dobrila in Pula since the very beginning of the study of Nursing and under his mentorship he defended his first final thesis on this study. In Pula, in addition to studying nursing, he also teaches at the Faculty of Education. In March 2022, he was elected to the scientific-teaching title of assistant professor at the Medical Faculty of the Juraj Dobrila University in Pula.
He also participated in secondary education as a lecturer in medical subjects to midwives (Pula Medical School) and physiotherapists (Scuola Media Superiore Italiana Rovinj-Rovigno).
He has published 23 professional and scientific papers and held more than 30 lectures at international and domestic congresses and conferences.
He actively speaks English and Italian.
